Welcome to the Fairfield County, Connecticut, USA Cursillo Community and our Web Site: The English-speaking Cursillo Community of Fairfield County, Connecticut of the Diocese of Bridgeport. The Diocese also offers Cursillo de Cristiandad en Espanol y en Protugues.

Cursillo is a 3-day introductory course to a life-long discipline of Christian Spirituality for Catholic Adults. It is a recognized Movement of the Roman Catholic Church. It affords us as Catholic adults the opportunity to meet the Christ of our salvation here and now on our life's journey.

Cursillo offers us a method after the 3-day experience to deepen our personal conversion from being merely a believer in God to realizing that each of us is a cherished child of the Father, a beloved sister or brother to the Christ, and a temple and partner of the Holy Spirit. In Christ we become a new creation and an intimate friend and trusted ally of God.

Cursillo teaches us that we need community. It reminds us that, although we are sinners in need of salvation, we are redeemed and reconciled in Christ to a loving Father. We are empowered in His Spirit to make friends, to be friends, and to gather as friends in Christ. As we grow together in friendship with Christ, our friendship with one another deepens. As we grow in the mind, heart and Spirit of Christ, we discover our apostolic mission to bring His Good News to all.

Cursillo is one of the wonderful ways the Church offers us to fulfill our Baptismal commission. We grow in community in Christ by our sustained sharing, prayer and study in small groups of friends each week. Each month we gather with other groups of friends in Christ in Bridgeport and Danbury for Ultreya, the reunion of all the groups of Cursillistas. There is another Ultreya that meets in Orange in our neighboring archdiocese of Hartford.
