WE
INVITE YOU TO
MAKE A CURSILLO WEEKEND!
The Cursillo experience begins with a 3-day
opportunity to grow in your relationship with Christ and in communion with your
fellow Catholics. Experience for
yourself how the graces and truths of our Catholic faith can help us to become
more fully Christian. Cursillo
(pronounced kur-see-yo) de Christiandad is Spanish for "a short course in
Christianity." The movement began
in Spain over 50 years ago.
A Catholic Cursillo Weekend is for practicing
Catholics, 18 years or older, who are able to receive the Sacraments. The weekend will help you to know Jesus
Christ in a more personal way and to experience Him within His Church community
... a community drawn to Him just as the first disciples were drawn to Him....
a community asked to go forth and share His love with all the world after their
own hearts have been set on fire!
The Weekend will include 15-20 people who are making
the Cursillo for the first time, two Spiritual Directors (usually 2 priests, or
a priest and a deacon) who will provide the Sacraments and spiritual talks, and
15-20 laypeople who have already made a Cursillo and will be there to give
talks, provide delicious meals, and serve your needs! Talks
will explore such topics as Ideals, The Layperson in the
Church, Grace, The Sacraments, Piety, Study, Action, Leaders, Study of
Environments, Christianity in Action, The Cursillista after the
Cursillo - A Method of Perseverance. Small table discussion will follow each talk, so you’ll be able to share what the topic means to you on a more
personal level. Learn how other
Catholic brothers and sisters are living their faith walk as they seek to
follow the will of God in their lives.
The high point of each day is our celebration of the Holy Eucharist.
The Cursillo
weekend experience will give you a sense of real Christian living, and send you
home with a method designed to give you continued support in your daily walk.
It can help you feel more comfortable sharing your faith with those around
you. Are you ready to experience
Cursillo?
The next Cursillos
