Yakima Diocese Welcomes New Cursillistas

The English speaking cursillo community of the Diocese of Yakima has been blessed with 44 new members! Sixteen men lived the men's cursillo, which was held October 1st through the 4th, and twenty-eight women lived the women's cursillo, held October 8th through the 11th. Both cursillos were held at Holy Apostles Parish in E. Wenatchee. The spiritual directors for the Men’s weekend were Fr. O'Shea and Deacon Kerry Turley and Rector was Jim Zimmerschied. Father Mike Ibach and Deacon Tom Richtsmeier were the spiritual directors for the women’s weekend. Debbie Patterson was the Rectora. New men cursillistas are: Mike Kullman, Patrick Czyzun, Jon Burris, Paul Essex, James Day, Orlando Garcia, Joe Schroeder, David Blomberg, Alfredo Jocson, Jerome Birnbaum, Bill Retterer, Steve Kearny, Ron Mertens, Allen Cheney, Chad Turley, and Steve Matule. The new women cursillistas are: Vicky Albrecht, Gail Apley, Brenda Birnbaum, Mary Blomberg, Evelyn Bradley, Vickie Brissey, Shirley Canterbury, Lilly Essex, Carrie Fetto, Pat Finnigan, Roxanna Halls, Kathy Kearny, Barbara Koegler, Angela Kora, Deborah Lutz, Darlene Matule, Sandy Miller, Jackie Molvik, Alexandra Morgan, Sharon Naasz, Cheryl Nixon, Sue Parker, Alyssa Rana, Sherry Schroeder, Patricia Timboe, Kimberly Thompson, Lisa Turley, and Pam Zent.

These new cursillistas will appreciate your congratulations and prayers for their continued participation in this wonderful movement. Please take a few minutes to review the list of your friends and determine if any of them would benefit from the experience of a Weekend as a Candidate. After such a review, please pray and discern whom you should invite to a Weekend. Remember, speak to God about your friend before you speak to your friend about God.

Also these upcoming Cursillo Weekends are to be conducted for all candidates and by Cursillistas from parishes throughout the Yakima Diocese. If you would like to participate in some capacity to pass on the Good News to the future Cursillistas please contact the rector or rectora.

Christ the King Parish, Richland - 9AM to 1PM PM (POTLUCK) every third Saturday in the old convent.
St Paul's Cathedral Parish, Yakima - 6:00 - 7:00 PM every second Monday in the gathering room.
Holy Apostles Parish, East Wenatchee 7:30 PM in gym on Fridays alternating with Ultreyas.
